Magazine Covers Part II.

Early Magazine covers mainly just showcased the title of the magazine and a table of contents. When they used actual covers, it was modeled after books with a title and a publication date. The third kind of cover was the symbolic cover that used an illustration to symbolize something within the magazine, but some weren't even related to the actual magazine. The Poster Cover is dominated by the picture, which was very large. It is often paired with the title much smaller and maybe one line of informing text. Pictures Married to Type covers where covers that had the title and picture in the perfect relationship where the model usually was covering part of the title with herself and cover lines surrounding part or all of her. In the Forest of Words covers are modeled to have space for a lot of text. They have their cover titles and then a lot of cover lines surrounding their whole picture.

Akins, Building, Happy.

I think this is an excellent example of my work because I incorporated rules of photography, depth and balance, and captured the theme. It relates to the theme because it shows what Akins really is, and how people see it.

This picture is an excellent example because I used leading lines and rule of thirds to express the prompt. This shows the prompt because the staircases are a major part of this building.

I think this picture is good because I showed rule of thirds and cropping while capturing the look of pure joy on her face to capture the theme.

Choice Sheets.

Commercial Photography sounds the most interesting for next. I don't really want to do newspaper or yearbook and have to report and make deadlines and stuff like that, so commercial photography sounds the best. I like the idea of staging photo shoots and really interesting photos. Instead of just taking pictures for the school.

2011.

I think that this was one of the most important pictures of the year because the death of Bin Laden was big news for Americans, and everyone's faces in this picture show how important it was.
I think this was a great picture because you can see the fear in the girl's body language and the eagerness in the dog. It shows how gravelly the radiation affected the people.
I think this picture is really important because it showed the world how important pets are. It showed all the love that that dog had for that soldier.

Best Song:
I definetly thought that 'Good Life' by One Republic was the best song of the year. This song was so uplifting and happy that it put everyone in a good mood. I think what attracted me to choose this was the fact that it was just an anthem for living a great life.

Best Movie:
I chose Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 for the best movie of 2011. I think this was the best movie because it was the end of a huge era. There are so many Harry Potter fans who were sad to see this series come to an end.

Most Important News Story:
I think the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton was the biggest news story of 2011. I think this because it was the love story of a lifetime. The ultimate Cinderella story, and there was finally a wedding.
Most Important Person:
I think Gabrielle Giffords was the most important person of 2011. She took an amazing sacrifice and paid a huge price to speak her mind. She showed courage and strength to recover and pull through after her injuries.

Biggest Entertainment Story:
The death of Amy Winehouse was the biggest entertainment story of 2011 for me. It was so sad to see someone so young loose her life. She was so talented and didn't treat herself like she should've.

My Holiday:
1) Over my holiday much church has a huge New Years celebration called Mania Marathon. Its where was stay up all night and just have a lot of fun and run around the city. This was my first one and I think it was one I will always remember.

2) My resolutions for 2012 are to smile more, and be more positive and optimistic.

3) In 2012 I am looking forward to finishing my freshman year, starting my sophomore year, and being a Diamond Dazzler.
